Special Olympics is an international organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities. Through year-round sports training and athletic competitions and other related programming for more than 150 countries, Special Olympics has created a model community that celebrates the diverse gifts of all peoples.
One hundred percent of the donations raised by the Carpentersville Police Department go directly toward Special Olympic athletes who will be competing June in Champaign, Illinois. These athletes will compete for a chance to move on to the World Winter Olympics in Japan.
